How to Clean Hardwood Floors with Vinegar

Here is some useful advice on how to clean hardwood floors with vinegar. If you have hardwood floors in your home or office you probably know that this kind of material requires a lot of care and maintaining. When we say “a lot of care”- we mean it! It takes frequent cleaning. You have to remove the dirt to keep the shine.

Vinegar will help you keep the clean look of your hardwood floors. Before you start cleaning your floors, remove all the carpets and rugs. Clean the floor with a dry material first in order to remove the dust and other dirt. Use a bucket. Pour some water into the bucket and add less than a cup of vinegar. Make sure that the water is warm. When you start cleaning, try not to spill water onto your floors. Too much water is bad for hardwood floors, so make sure your mop is not soaked with water.

Start cleaning the corners first. When you see that the water is getting dirty, change it and add the same amount of vinegar. When you are done with cleaning, take a dry mop and start drying the floors. It will result in better shine and the dust from air will not stick to the floor. When the floor is completely dry, you can put the carpets and rugs back to where they were, but be patient till the floor is really dry.

This is a very simple thing to do to keep your hardwood clean. If you have rugs or carpets, they can protect your floor against damaging and scratches. Hardwood floors look really great and smooth so some people prefer not to put any carpets. If you do not have them, try to wear soft slippers and avoid walking around in hills because this can damage the floor.
